Wednesday Evenings

Community Nights have begun for fall and will run through May 1, 2019! 

The whole community is invited to join us every Wednesday evening during the school year for a free-will donation dinner from 5:15-6:00pm as well as free classes from 6:00-7:30pm complete with nursery care for your little ones from birth to age 2.

We are now offering a great program for kids, families and individuals of all ages called Messy Church which begins at 6pm. Messy Church is a space that focuses on exploring faith concepts through hands-on activities like art, music, dance, science, play and community. Drop your kids off, attend with them or find your own space as a kid at heart as we explore God in new ways. See Pastor Anna with any questions about Messy Church at anna@auburnumc.church

In addition to Messy Church, we offer a variety of free classes beginning at 6pm and invite you to join us!along with nursery care and our hands-on children’s programming for our younger crowd up to 5th grade!

9/5, 9/12 & 9/19 American Sign Language Basics Course (6:30-7:30pm)

Auburn resident Mary Eyster will be teaching a free three week course on American Sign Language basics. Mary is the mother of two girls, and is passionate about Sign Language—and is looking forward to teaching these three sessions. This is a course, and registration is for ALL three sessions.

9/12 Yoga and Oils with Kelli DePriest

Certified Yoga Teacher Kelli DePriest, a lifelong resident of Auburn, has been practicing different styles of yoga for more than seven years. She received her 200HR RYT in July 2017 and has been teaching ever since. Kelli serves her hometown and surrounding communities by sharing her knowledge of balancing energies and proper body movement/alignment through public yoga classes, as well as private sessions. Join us for this free class in which we combine Yoga with teaching about the benefits of essential oils. No registration required!


9/19 Why Hospice? With DeKalb Health Hospice Services

If you have ever walked towards the end-of-life with a loved one, you know one of the most difficult decisions to make is, “when is hospice right for my loved one?” DeKalb Health Hospice Services is going to tell us about the benefits of hospice services, When hospice might be right for your loved one, and answer any questions you might have about the purposes of hospice services. This class would be beneficial for anyone who has a loved one they may care for one day. No registration required!


9/19 The Art of Reading Scripture

Led by Worship Arts Director Tim Miller, this class will explore how we read and interpret scripture through the use of ancient and modern approaches, discovering what we can do to effectively engage the Bible in both public worship and our private lives. No registration required!

10/3 Autumn Signs Make and Take with Said Your Way Studio (Registration Required)

Cheri Bandt with Said your Way Studios will be helping us in makine one of two autumn signs. Said Your Way is a local business, specializing in crafting-gatherings—and we are grateful for the opportunity to have her join us on October 3rd for a fun night of creating and laughter! Participation is limited to 50, so be sure you sign up soon!

10/10 Raising Kids in a Technology Driven World taught by Paige Clingenpeel

Paige’s desire is to have people walk away with specific tools for their individual situations and makes each talk unique to that venue and the people present. Her topics for youth groups and parenting groups range from Identity Development, Adolescent Trends, Psychosocial Impact of Technology, Moral Development, Parenting in a Tech World, Spiritual Formation, Finding Worth, Sexual Purity, Sexuality Identity Issues, and Application for Life. The topics for women’s ministry groups include, Finding Peace and Direction, Spiritual Gifts, Marriage, Refreshment, and Biblical Application. 

Paige is a wife to Ryan and mother to 4, two girls & two boys. She is actively involved in her local church Crossbridge Community. Paige is constantly reading (when the kids allow), is a history buff and believes that Shark Week should be deemed a holiday in the United States, if not the world!

Credentials: 
Paige holds a License in Mental Health Counseling in the State of Indiana.
Paige also holds academic degrees in Masters of Arts in Community Counseling, Master of Arts in Addiction Counseling, Bachelor of Science in Intercultural Studies, Minor in Christian Ministries.

10/24 Cake Decorating Basics with Michelle Noe from the Cookie Nook (Registration Required)

Auburn resident and owner of the Cookie Nook, Michelle Noe, will be teaching a cake decorating basics class on October 24th. Each participant will have their own cake and frosting tools they may experiment with, and try various frosting tips and techniques. Participation is limited to 30, so don't wait to register for this exciting evening!
