Class Descriptions

About Our classes

We have 7 regular classrooms and 1 classroom designated for our music, fitness, library, and art classes. Our students attend library, specials and recess. All day students have lunch at school (provided by the family of each all-day student) and a short rest period. We choose to offer lots of opportunity to transition in and out of the classroom so students can experience a variety of learning and teaching styles.

Before & After School Care

Preschool: Runs from 7:00-8:30 am & 3:00-5:30 pm for children 2- 5 years of age and who are currently enrolled in one of our preschool classes. A snack is provided for each child in aftercare.

Elementary: Before care runs from 7:00-8:30 am on Wednesday mornings only for DeKalb Central’s delayed start and also on weather-related delays. Elementary aftercare runs Monday-Friday from 2:30-5:30 pm and students are provided a snack. Transportation must be arranged by the parent through DeKalb Central Transportation for both before and aftercare.

Summer ChildCare

We offer a full time childcare option for the summer to preschool and elementary age children. We provide in house special guests and events, employee our same highly qualified staff, participation in our Fine Arts Camp, and snacks. Parents provide a packed lunch for students.  1-5 day a week options are available throughout the summer. Summer childcare runs from May 30-August 9.

 Afternoon Enrichment

This option can be added to any morning preschool class to make it a full day program. Students pack a lunch and have a rest time followed by enrichment activities. These are month long inquiry themes with hands on academic and play woven into the afternoon.

About Little Learners

Students are 2 years old. Class options include Tuesday/Thursday ($100/month), Monday/Wednesday/Friday ($150/month), or Monday-Friday ($200/month) from 8:30-11:30 am.

Students in the Little Learners do not have to be potty trained, however, parents are expected to provide diapers, wipes, and diaper cream. This class is designed to aid young children in the development of social and motor skills. This development will be encouraged through exploration of art and the senses, songs, rhymes, and finger plays. The Little Learners provides students with the opportunity to become familiar with a school and classroom environment while learning how to cope with the anxiety of being separated from familiar surroundings.
